Broken Lullabies

Nice song.
But you make my face sad.
Then my heart falls down with the corners of my mouth.
The weight I fell makes me hang my head low.
Soon all I can see are my boots on a lonely path.
Then I hear you and a happy warm feeling fills me up.
It is light and allows my head to swing back up.
To where I see you and your amazing art.
Then I get over taken by the good feelings and start to float.
I reach my hand out and wish for you to take it and let us fly above all that makes us upset.
Then you say no and the good warm feeling dies.
I try to land softly on hard concrete.
My face breaks and my body hurts.
When I look back up I see you sad and there is no happy feeling in you.
You could not float with me, high above the hurtful world.
I notice that you wished you could.
The warm feeling that had left me is now replaced with hope, and everyone knows hope floats.
Soon, I am sure, we will both be high above the depression you feel.
No longer weighed down underneath it.
So until then I will walk beside you and keep you company and try to make you laugh.
